    ABOUT THE BOOK AL-ISLAM: A Restrictive Definition of Secular and Religion This book explains the Guidance of God, according to the Creeds of Abraham and the worldview teachings of Tawhid (unity and universality), which are found in all the major Books of God in all nations of this world. For example, by following the Creeds of Abraham, we are inspired to believe in God as Creator, Sustainer, Protector, etc, of the Universe, free of all dogmas and doctrines of Religion, and follow the secular and scientific path of the Creation, without being Godless. This “restrictive definition” of the secular and religion allows us to reduce both Religion and Godless science to Reality and superimpose all true knowledge of science, religion, culture, politics, etc, one on top of the other without creating any boundaries within and between them which make them separate and exclusive. PREFACE Not long ago, a woman was asked in a Secular Association meeting, whether she believed in God. She said, “I believe in God because I do gardening”. From this statement of the woman in the Secular Association meeting, I gathered that one did not have to believe in a religion to believe in God, and that one did not have to be a “science-based, evidence-based” person to be a member of the Secular Society. THE CONFLICT    After Trump won the 2016 Election, the conflict between the secular and the religious escalated in the USA. A lady refused to register the marriage of a same sex couple and a doctor refused to conduct an abortion. Likewise, Jeff Session passed a Law to teach Creationism side by side with Evolution in public schools. And to strengthen the Traditionalists against the Liberals, Mr Trump filled the vacancy left by two progressive minded liberal Judges in the Supreme Court of the USA with two traditionally minded conservative Judges giving the Conservatives a 6-3 majority.    In England, a doctor refused to treat a man with a long beard as a transgender patient and the government of Iceland banned “circumcision’. And likewise, the EU Law pressurized the Jews and Muslims to “stun” their animals pre-slaughter. And a public school in Birmingham, England, taught Diversity to include the LGBT+ community. Abraham was an ordinary person like you and I. He was the son of an idol maker. God chose him as a Messenger of God (Qur’an 16:121) after He saw that Abraham was not afraid to question what he, his father and his community leaders believed (6:74, 26:75, 37:83-87). This is because God thought highly of those who used their intellect, vision, etc, to determine the Truth (Qur’an 38:45-46, 39:9).   Therefore, before God chose Abraham as His Messenger, Abraham did the following: 1.   He refused to worship the idols of his father because he reasoned that the idols did not have God-like attributes of God. (Qur’an 6:74, 21:52, 26:72-73). 2.   When he wanted to know from his father why he worshipped idols which could not hear or benefit him, his father said he saw his ancestors do so. (21:53, 26:74). 3.   To Abraham such a belief system based on tradition, which did not make sense, was not worth following.    When Abraham wanted to know the Truth about God and Religion after rejecting all the Religions of his time based on sound reason and logic, God did not give him a Book like the Torah, Gospel and the Qur’an, but allowed him “to perceive through the alteration of the day and night in celestial worship” that God existed as the Creator, Sustainer, Protector, etc., of the universe, free of all dogmas and doctrines of Religion, and that he (Abraham) had to follow the secular and scientific path of God’s creation without being Godless, (Qur’an 6:74-79, 6:38, 30:30, 3:83).     Abraham was able to make this assessment of God, Religion and Secularism because Abraham was Haneef (a person of pure natural beliefs). In other words, he did not use the “blind faith” methodology of Religion or the “science-based, evidence-based” methodology of Modern Science to establish any knowledge.   According to the Qur’an, there is a neutral and universal way of establishing the Eternal Truth and Reality of our Universe and one Standard way of life (AdDeeni Haneefan) for all humans, both secular and religious. It is by using God’s Word in the context of His Work in Nature, which does not change with space and time, (Qur’an 42:13, 30:30). For example, plants and animals establish “certainty of knowledge” according to the methodology of ilm-ul-yaqin (certainty of knowledge by inference and reasoning), ayn-ul-yaqin (certainty of knowledge by seeing and observing) and haqq-ul-yaqin (absolute knowledge, like this is a laptop, etc). Therefore, establishing the knowledge of Hadith by using Sanad (chain of narrators) and to follow religion and tradition by “blind faith” is not an Eternal Way of establishing the true knowledge of the Sunnah of the Prophet (s) or authenticating Hadith.
